Time passes since my last blog 2 years ago. Nowadays facebook and twitters has replaced blogging. Somehow I just has to write something before this funny dream I had two days ago be forgotten.


The dream was very clear. In my mind I could recall the full picture. I saw from my bird eye view into a temple. Inside the temple it was deserted. Everything was cleared of table chair or statue of any gods. It was like the empty house clear for renting or for renovation. Then my view was raised like a helicopter up the ceiling.I then saw a statue of the kuan kung or a chinese diety pinky face! Somewhere the statue of the chinese god was standing at the front door above ground near to the ceiling. Then my view went up the top of the roof. I saw palm tree grow out into the roof of the temple building. I also saw clearly the root of the palm tree wrapped the pillar of the temple building. That was the full picture I saw in my dream.Outside the temple the road were flooded with water!





I wake up after the nite sleep. And the full picture was still captured in my mind. Many time after we wake up we forgot our dream. But in this instance the picture was very clear.


I could not guess what was the meaning of this dream.





As usual in the morning I went to market had my breadfast and buy my daily paper.


I was shocked to see the front page of the new straits time a picture of the Thai Royal Palace temple in Bangkok! A monk was standing outside the temple with water flooded until knee length. It was the great flood of Thailand in the last 50 years. Today the news reported that a million Thai people has moved south and east to escape the great flood moving like the great tsunami of 03-11-09. The major earthquark that strike Japan! In this case the great flood of Bangkok city of Thailand!





The Thai Prime Minister Yingluck has announced in the local tv news! She shed tears to the people of Thailand advising them to move out of Bangkok.It is a lost fight against nature! No one can stop the flow of water breaking the canal and overflow the river flooding three quarter of the country. The heavy rain coming from the north of Vietnam, cambodia and laos caused the flow of water down south towards Bangkok! The Thai international airport was turned into a refugee centre! Bangkok has turned into a land of waterways overnite!





Fengsui master read the wind and water! Their answer why this great flood happened? It was the first time Thai has elected a lady Prime Minister. And her name is Ying Luck Sinawatra.


She was the sister of Thatsin Sinawatra who is in excile. In chinese geomancy Ying Yang is the the female and male or negative and positive. Ying is associated with negative. So the Prime Minister carry with her a negative luck. Her name brings negative luck to the nation. Hence, flood came. Another theory is that on the day when she was sweared in the royal palace before the King to accept the appointment as the 1st Lady Prime Minister of Thailand, she was having her period. She has a heavy flow of menses and was deemed unclean. It must have offended the heavenly god. Hence, the great flood.





I share my dream with James Chua. He was stunt and could not interprete the dream. He say if I had the dream of 7 thin cows eat up 7 fat cows that will be very easy. It was interpreted by Joseph to the King Faroah as recorded in the bible.

Today is chinese qing ming day! It is the christian Good Friday or the all soul day! My sister has been reminding me to pray to our ancestor grandma and grandpa at the graveyard! it is the day to clean the graveyard and ask for blessing.

2. My sister also remind me to visit my late wife to offer prayer. But I am just confused! Since accepting the christian faith I am often reminded that Jesus say let the dead bury the dead! What it means is that the dead deceased spirit is not going to bless you. We can at most just say hello to the dead and nothing more! It is just the day for rememblance of our love one! Nothing more.
Burning paper and offering food! Will the dead receive the offering? No proof lah!

3. Time just passed swiftly, since my last blog was the chinese Chap Goh Mei. My Japanese torusan has completed his 1 yr study in spore. Last see him off on 27th March! Sayonara! No tear shed by the Ah Gong and Ah Ma here! Maybe because of the language barrier and the vast different of culture between the Japanese and Chinese! Due to no close ties in the past!

4. After qing ming, next is the Good Friday and the Vesak Day! Due to economic downturn this yr 2009 is just not eventful. News are bad! Every now and then news of unemployment, retrenchment and job loss! Business closing and people getting poorer! Bankruptcy looming all over the world and grounding of airlines due to loss of passenger traffic! Job fare crowded with job seeker! Now we hear of assistant engineer with no job applying for bus driver post! And we have 20,000 people applying for 800 post in the gaming resort of Genting Sentosa Casino
Resort which has yet to open the 1st quarter of 2010!

5. What is going to happen ahead of this year is not very good in economic term. But life is not a smooth journey to travel ! There are hump and pot hole in some part of the road we travel. Nothing is permanently smooth in life! There are stress in life! God bless we had our food and shelter ! No shortage of basic need! Not falling sick is ho mia liao lol! amen!


1. Today is the Chinese teochew last day of the Chinese New Year! The 15th day or so call Chap Goh Mei! It is believed by the Chinese that during this night, the single who is looking for a bride or groom will go to the river and throw an orange after making a wish. Let the orange land into the mouth of a gold fish and your luck will be good to catch a beautiful wife. For girl you will catch a Prince Charming the following year.

2. I once told my friend if I will to be single again I will go and throw a pamelo, bigger than an orange! My friend joke that I will get an Or You tang wife if my pamelo landed in the mouth of a crocodie!

3. Not long later on 10th Feb 1990 my wife, Annie tan aged 32 yrs, passed away in hospital ! Died of breast cancer.

4. By coincident the Chinese date was on the Chap Goh Mei 10th Feb 1990. Hence, every anniversay 15th day of the Chinese New Year I had to visited her and bought flower! Since I became Christian I do not offer any food and light joss stick but just bought flower to her.
At time I feel guilty! What happen now she has no food to eat in the other world? Jialat!

5. Today her 19th Anniversary, I bought a bouquet of flower to present to her. Feeling a bit guilty I bought an all in one paper packet consisting of clothing and other necessity! On arrival at the Tse Tho Aun crematorium temple I placed the flower on the table. The paper packs was burnt as offering to her with the name written! The chinese believed the dead will received the paper offering! I am doubtful! Anyway play safe lah just burnt lor!

6. After the offering and my prayer to her I decided to visit the urn where part of her bone was kept. I bought some tissue to clean up the ceramic urn which was placed on lot no B3 12358!
As I went to the gate entrance I found the iron gate was locked. Not knowing what to do I stood there outside the gate(it was the side gate).

7. Shortly, an elderly man appeared behind me while I was staring at the locked gate! I told the man I wanted to visited my wife urn to clean up! He then offer to led me into the condominium building by the main entrance where there was someone guarding the entrance! I managed to enter the house of the dead and clean up the ceramic urn of my loved one!

8. After the cleaning I walked out led by the same elderly man. Just shortly outside the building, the elderly man just simply dissappeared out of my sight. Curious, I asked the guard where was the man who led me in and out of the building? The man was talking to me saying the side gate was closed due to a family member complained of their gold belongings was missing from the urn.

9. I was shocked when the guard say there was no one leading me in and out of the building. In fact he told me that he was surprised why I was talking to myself walking alone in and out passing by him. He asked whether I was OK!

10. Stunned ! I turned around and chabot home as soon as I can! This is my 19th anniversary Chap Goh Mei 2009!


1. With Chinese New Year, I made some observation of Ageing and realised it is a problem that we sometime take for granted and tend not to be prepared for it.

2. As usual on the first day we visited the in law for reunion lunch.My mum in law as usual cook her usual dishes of abalone soup, curry chicken roast duck fried bee hoon with leek vegetable and fish.Missing this year was the sea cucumber! My dad in law is now retired from his 40 over years of taxi driving. No income but he still continued his ang pow giving from his pocket from past saving! Yet he still has to feed another prodigal son! God bless they are still in good health! Both in their past 70 yrs.

3. My 2nd visit to my 1st mum in law saw the real ageing! My mum in law is 90 yrs this year on wheel chair.She is deaf! But she still recognised me and my daughter! Fortunately, my brother in law was able to employ a maid to take care of her need. Feedback from the maid revealed that her mental has hay wire. She told the maid that she saw her late husband visited her on the eve of the new year. In the normal day living she claimed that she saw chilren entering the house playing. But the maid did not see any children. It is the case of seeing the underworld spirits.

4. It is frightening when ageing catch up. The next family saw my aging aunt and uncle in their this 80 yrs. The aunt look after my 3 daughters from baby till grown up now. Lately she had a fall and injured her leg and coud not walk. The uncle had to take over the household work! They could not afford a maid. Michelle told me she had to send her to hospital weekly for checkup of other sickness. It is pay back time to take care of the ageing. Michelle was taken care by her from baby like her own grandchild.

5. Family bond is important. We hear of ageing people dieing in their home without anyone knowing until smell spread to the neighbour. So there are ageing people without children or relative taking care! The world most ageing population is in Japan! We hear many old people dieing alone at home without anyone knowing!

6. One will not see the problem until one own ageing parents and relative is sick and need care!
How to overcome this ageing problem? Healthy is important. Enough children to take care! For those without children old folk home is the solution! Government do not want people in the old folk home! Who to pay?

7. Ideal solution! Mati when time up! Mati not correct word to use. Rupture! Is there a way to go straight to heaven or the next world when one's life is used up or has no energy left to take own care? The answer is to follow the Eskimo way of life.

8. The eskimo are people living in the north pole. They lived in igloo or ice frozen house in the cold north pole. They eat fish and animal from hunting. When the ageing parent is too old and weak to go hunting they voluntary go and feed to the seal as meat! Macham offering to the very animal they hunt to eat. Suicide! The living children accept the fate!


1.The US 44th President Barrack Obama was born in 1961 the year of the OX.
So the world No 1 president of America is also an OX year. He is 48 yrs one of the youngest president of US. And the 1st black American president.

2. Ex Princess Diana is also born in the year of the Ox 1961.

3. Chinese fengsui master say that Obama luck is not good this year! Being the 44th president dont sound good. In chinese 4 sound like si(die)! Double 44 die die lagi jialat.

4. Ox is one of the 12 animals in the chinese calendar year. Legend has it that when Buddha dies laying in bed the 12 animals was heading to pay the last respect. The Ox or cow was supposed to be the 1st animal to reach the scene and the 1st animal on the Chinese Lunar Year Calendar. But the rat was cunning and he tumpang on the head of the cow. On reaching the house of Buddha the rat jumped down from the cow's head and pay the 1st respect to the Buddha.

5. Hence, the Rat become the 1st animal of the 12 other animals in the Lunar Calendar year. The Ox or Cow was the 2nd animal named accordingly in line on arrival to pay respect to the Buddha.

6. The Indian buddhist dont eat cow meat or beef! Why is it so? The buddhist believed that all human being are subject to re-incanation. Based on our good or bad deed we are subject to born and reborn again and again. If our karma or bad deed is greater we may be re-born in the animal lives! It is believed that Buddha father was born from the animal cow! Hence, cow is one of his ancestor! So the buddhist has to respect the cow which is the ancestor of buddha. So dont makan beef lah. But can drink cow's milk!

7. Cow are born to work on the field and they eat grass. They produce milk. Cow's meat is very tasty! Thats why beef satay or Macdonald burger is so tasty! When I was young my parent warn me that if you eat beef you will not prosper let alone strike lottery!

8. The American is the greatest eater of cow meat! They invented Big Mac and the beef steak and beef burger is eaten all over the world including the muslim world! The muslim and jews dont eat pork of pig! No restriction on cow!

9. This is the year of the cow! Lets respect the cow! No beef satay, beef steak or Big Mac burger! The cow has come to take revenge on the American! Now lets wait and see what Obama the cow president will do to help the american! Happy Niu(cow) Year!


Cantonese wishing of happy new year is Kong Hee Fatt Choy.The year of the ox =cow=bull (cowless).26th January 2009 yr but the chinese calendar is 1st day of year 4706!

The normal of Chinese New Year is Reunion Dinner or family get together! As usual the in-law invited to attend re-union lunch. It is followed by giving of angpows to the grand-children. So my 5 children gain in receiving angpow. Me as son in law has to bring gifts of Bak Kwa and beer and a pair of orange in exchange of big makan! The special lunch come with the curry chicken cooked by mun in law which is never a miss for the past 15 yrs.

My 1st mum in law is 90 yrs old this yr! I had to visit her with my elderst queen! Let her remember her missing daughter replaced with a grand-daughter presence! But my little queen dont look like her mother lah! Her size L compare with her deceased mum M. The 90yrs mum in law is now size SM( small not Minister Mentor).

Sad to say that this year I could not visit my own parent in Segamat for the re-union dinner! My dad is 80 yrs this year. Bopian no car lah! Last year manage to drive Michelle car home! This year Michelle bought a new car SJM 7885 just 3 days old. The car is too new for her to depart even for a day! Her new boyfriend sponser part payment scared going to Malaysia may get stolen! Lost jialat lah! As usual tumpang angpow home through my sister!

What the ox year signify? Ox or cow means you have to work plouging the field eating grass!
Cow is a slow moving animal unlike tiger dog or horse! So year of patient and hard work to succeed in life. The economy this year is in recession world wide! No escape! So be prepared to work hard like cow! And this is an earth cow! Good for the farmer!

The bible told the story of the King of Egypt who dream of the 7 fat cow eaten by 7 thin cow! No one was able to interpret the dream except Joseph! It was later seen as 7 years of plenty of harvest and richness in the land followed by 7 yrs of famine and drought.

Could this yr 2009 the 1st yr of the 7 yr of bad recession to come! Famine and drought talk about the land of disaster and food shortage! So we have bad recession with people lost job and business closed down. Bank collapse all over the world. Big business going bankrupt! Asia from China Japan to Spore economic growth slump! Millions in China celebrate their new year without knowing when to report for work again. JOBLESS!

1.The result of the 2008 O level was surprising. The top student, Haw Sue Hern from CHIJ St Nicholas Girls Sec School is a Malaysian who score 10 As 1. The 2nd runner-up her fellow classmate Cheong Jia Ee score 9 As 1 and 1A2 also a Malaysian! Wah both top two students were Malaysian. What happen to spore! Our student no where to be seen!

2.Ah, at least my daughter Tiffanny from the same top school CHIJ also score 7 As ! Among the top of CHIJ! But among the National level in the hundred lah! However another of her classmate, also a Malaysian, Michelle, score 8 As! Michelle was staying with us for the last 1 year sharing the room with Tiffany! So I believe the Malaysian blood dna intelligence must have transfered to Tiffany when they share the room together!

3.I am proud to anounce that my house produce 2 students combine result score 15 As! Like table tennis individual champion and double champion! So my DAUGHTER Tiffany and Michelle is a double champion of the GCE O level 2009! 15 A's you know!

4.The sad thing is that the champion, Haw sue Hern, has gone home to Subang Jaya Selangor to enrol the American private Taylor College in Malaysia. We lost the foreign talent!

5. Hokkien lang say Su Lang mine su ming! So kiasu Queen can go round booasting one of her daughters also got 7 As coming from the top School in Spore!

6. My 2nd sister has a son Ah Chye who score 10 As in Malaysia. My 3rd brother has a daughter who score 11 As also in Malaysia. My 1st brother has a daughter also score 7 As in spore! At least I dont lose face lah!

7. At last one of my four children has broken my record GCE O level. In case they dont know I had 4 As in my GCE O level in 1971.During my time the top student in my school score only 7 As.





1.In Bangkok Thailand they hold a count down party on the eve of 2008 to welcome 2009! Guess what happen in Santika Club? Fire due to fire display caused the burning of Santika club! Latest news say at least 61 people died with 200 injured! This is worst than terrorist bomb!

2.As usual the owner of this Santika club did not consult fengsui in giving name. In hokkien San-ti-ka means offer pig leg! So by the name it happen fire cause those kena burnt to death like roast pig leg! santika lor!

3.Now the taoist monk is suggesting to those died in the fire to offer pig head as prayer offering!
So the family of those burnt to death like roast pig leg has to offer pig head! In hokkien offer pig head sound like San-ti-tao!

Why do people wish happy new year every year even when the government is seeing negative growth for the coming new year 2009! The latest news on the first day of 2009 is that spore economy on the last q4 2008 is -2.6%! The spore economy is expected to have negative growth in 2009 the worst recession in the last 26 years!

But we are fortunate that many still have a job to do and have a roof over their head. Thanks to the past good years we have. The old generation have enough cpf saving and a hdb flats home to stay.
Looking at the nieghbour countries, the 1st day of new year saw the fire in Santika nightclub Bangkok killing 60 people injured 200! As bad as a terrorist bomb! 2 spore casualty in the fire. Just like in the mumbai terrorist attack 1 spore young lady lawyer killed.

In Malaysia, while back home last december, I could hear from my family the falling price of oil palm rubber cocoa caused my people working as rubber tapper, oil palm estate worker many time poorer. Used car dealers is stuck with stock unsold! Just like what we hear in the US the 3 giant motor company GM Ford Chrysler nearing bankruptcy! Also Japan Toyota has suffered lost of $2 billion for the first time in 20 over years history!

Nothing good news ahead of 2009 but why do people still wish happy new year! It should be sad new year ahead. Every time new year approached, accident occurred. Near Indonesia and Phillippine everytime near new year hari raya or christmas we hear and see news of ferries sink causing death. But here in spore we take good life for granted. No train accident or ship sink! But happy merry parties going on! Only the wheel ferry jam causing some tourists ride caught stuck in the cabin on top of the air a few hour! Free viewing of spore island a few hour! Nothing serious lah!

The next groom and doom is the aviation or airlines industries. Many budget airlines is in trouble operating at loss due to poor tourists travelling. Lucky oil price has dropped from $147 per barrel to $40 per barrel. But bus fare and train fare remained as usual. So no saving for the users. Petrol price has dropped a little causing less stress to car owners but carpark charges remained. Today new car prices has dropped due to poor demand but also finance company is not approving to new customers! Bank broke or afraid customers may default payments!

Bad time for contract workers in spore. Now we see many sub contractor dump away excess Indian and china workers when no new project is coming. Pity those foreign workers due to recession. They are the first to be retrenched! Our young school workers is still choosy in the job available! Our civil service department is short of local manpower! Young sporean dont like to work in the police immigration nursing and army uniform jobs! Maybe if there is a longer recession when job is more difficult to come by then the young people will wake up!

What will be the Chinese New Year be like coming this 26th January? Will the big annual lunch at in law home get smaller without abalone fish soup! Of course the mother in law home cook curry chicken mesti ada(sure to have)! The children still hope to get their angpow from auntie and uncles. But they are not aware granny asset in stock has lost in value by 70-80 %! This is what my mum in law last spoke to me saying that the stock in share she hold has dropped in value that it may not come back in 10 yrs time even if she mati! Very jialat!

We should not measure the bad time ahead in term of money value or job prospect!
Happy new year can mean no earthquake or flood or famine or food shortage! Happy can means we are not sick and in good health! Peace is taken for granted! No war like in some other countries in Gaza Israel! Rockets and missile hitting at random causing death to innocent people. You dont know when death will come! That is real bad new year!

Lets look ahead for happy new year not bad new year! Lets celebrate with red wine and abalone soup and roast chicken come chinese new year! Let the world be in recession but we are not of the world! Let us enjoy the opportunity of the recession by enjoying the many cheap cheap things to come! Cheap sale will be plenty! But be prepared to work hard to earn money to enjoy the cheap goods available!

All good things come from the Lord! Trust the lord your god with all your heart and all good things will come to you! Put the trust in him 1st and there is no bad year but happy new year!

Wah 2008 just gone like that. Here come 2009! New year resolution to make again.
What have I achieved 2008? Nothing spectacular. But count me blessed that my health is ok! No sickness except my normal medicine taking to maintain my heart beat and cholestorol level under control. Ah the diet of eating more vegetable fruits and less oily food helps. More time spent going swimming helps maintain my weight within my normal level of 69kg.

2. The last quarter of 2008 is economically frightening. It is just bad news coming from the financial meltdown of US causing the spread all over the world. It is like another tsunaimi swepting the world. Thanks god spore has plenty of jobs around and those working people has not had any sleepless night except the pocket is poorer due to higher cost living expenses. Of course there are some unfortunate 1 kena retrenched or got badly burnt by slumping stock market or collapse of Lehman Brothers Investment. Sorry for those rich retirees whose savings in financial bank kena eaten by American!

3. What to look forward to 2009. Bad news for those working in private sector likely to kena retrenched ! The fear of the 1998 Asian financial meltdown repeat itself again in 2009.
But those working in government jobs has no sleepless night. Pity those in business exporting to US! Many has to wind up business!

4. What to do come 2009! Stay cool lor! keep working where there are jobs to do. Never mind the pay is low. So long as you have some work to do and earn your honest income to put 3 meals on the table very lucky liao. In the end time, the bible say there is a money system failure! And this US bank going bankrupt is just the beginning.

5. Just a few days ago I met my business friend. This is what he say! Come 2009 if you are in business and if you can pay your workers salary, rental and not in debts to bank chasing after your morgage loans you are consider 1 up liao.

6. So my resolution for 2009 are as follows: a) peace and harmony is important. Never to quarrel with friends and neighbour and relative. Family members in happy mood can laugh and enjoy life 1st priority. Less house on fire with queens less grumpy and screaming ok liao.
b)Healthy life style living. This means eating more healthy food and have enough recreation and sleep. As age catching up health is important. I want to make sure at least 2 visit per wk go swimming in Orchid country club.
c)My last year resolution to take my Lighthouse membership course studies not fulfil.I hope this year I should make the time to fulfil the membership course.
d)My intention to clear the home of junk including my cartridges storage. With recession I hope to fine a cheap storage space to stock my cartridges and still be profitable to cover the rent






Yesterday an extra ordinary incident happen in spore zoo. A 32 yrs zoo cleaner climb into the encloser of the 3 white tigers for what reason we dont know! Was it suicide? Kena barang or evil possess? Bad omen! 2 of the 3 white tigers approached him and maul him to death! Did he voluntary feed him to the tigers! But video camera taken by tourists saw the man did try to escape from the tigers but it was too late! Kena bite on the neck and body! Mati lah!

According to working supervisors the man was acting strangely a few days earlier. On the day before he climb into the tigers encloser he bid farewell to his friend saying bye bye! He even say that is his last he will see him again. So it sound like he is going to commit suicide or at least he indicate that he is going to die. Very rare of people want to die feeding himself to the white tigers.

Another theory is that the man a Malaysian worker from Sarawak was possess by spirit of the animal. Probably by the spirit of the wild boar (pig). So he was led by the spirit into the white tigers to be eaten up!

Fengsui of bad omen going to befall on Spore! Fortune teller say that when white tigers eat up man it is a sign of bad fortune to the nation. The incident happen on the same day 900 staff from our 1st local DBS bank kena retrenched! Spore in recession! Las Vegas Sand Casino about to go bankcrupt and the project in Marina threaten to stop due to lack of fund.

Lehman Brothers Financial Bank go bankcrupt caused 10,000 sporean mostly retiree Ah Pek and Aunties who invested some 400 million got burnt. The poor life savings of those retirees who park their monies in those structured deposits or minibond kena drown with sorrow witn not a cent back! How is it that Spore government so pandai (clever) can get cheated by this American Bank. Malaysia so bodoh tak kena!

Today more bad news, another US Investment Bank Morgan Standley confirmed that so called Pinnacle notes series 9 and 10 deposits is now worth not a cent. More investors mati.

It is a miracle American AIG Insurance never go bankcrupt! There were 2.2 million policyholder in spore! 1 in 4 person had AIA insurance policy.

What is going to happen next? Rich people with money and property dont be so happy! Poor people with nothing dont be too sad. When tsunami or big wave hit the shore of our tiny Island all rich and poor kena splash with water! All wet lah!








1.On the 2nd Oct just a day after Hari Raya I decided to go for a hair-cut in my home town of Segamat. Just to save some cost and enjoy the good service of the Malaysian shampoo girl.

2. It was just an ordinary uni-sex salon. The hair-dresser or so called 'tao-chew' specialist had the hair-cut for me. It was followed by the shampoo girl which is just a trainee to do the washing for me. The girl in his teen probably 17 yrs, must be a trainee. While the tao chew was cutting hair for me she was cleaning the window and sweeping the floor.

3. The polite young pretty girl was very courteous. As she was scrubbing my hair on my head, she politely address me as 'papa'! Wow! 1st time in my life a young girl address me as papa! Sign of old age liao. She say "Papa if you feel my scrubbing too hard cause pain please let me know"!

6. After reading all the bad news and events happening this past months, I come to the conclusion to avoid this fast heart beating events. Retreat to a remote island and become a farmer or fisherman. Stay in a farm house planting vegetables and do own fishing for meat. Dont read news or have any connection to the net. Life will not be stressful but more peaceful!

7. Instead of fasting 1 month by the muslim from dawn to sunset befor celebrating Hari Raya on 1st October, I shall go on retreat from 28th to 1st October! 1. This month the Chinese Ghost month coming to an end in 3 days time. The ghosts will be returning home after 1 month holiday! The Beijing Olympic has also ended. Boring set in to some who has been watching tv for the past two weeks.

2. The new Mooncake Festival is coming alive. Shops started selling mooncakes everywhere. Every year new beautiful design and packing is seen in the market. Yesterday saw my young queen bought 1 box from Swissotel Stamford Hotel. Now the mooncake dont come with what you called 2egg york or 4 egg york. I tested one piece and found chocolate instead of egg york!
Wow! delicious! But price? Jialat! must be very expensive.

3. No choice still got to buy 1 box for my 1st mother-in-law .She is now 89 yrs still going strong and alert. 2 months ago when I visited her she asked for my young queen! Jialat! I remember my sin committed some 28 yrs ago! My wife was very particular about the mooncake festival and every year I had to buy two boxes for my mother in-law without fail.

4. In the year 1980 or 1981 during the mooncake festival my wife reminded me to buy 2 boxes of mooncake for her mum. At that time, 1 box of 4 mooncakes cost only $8. The actual festival was on the 15th day of the chinese 8th month. We used to send the cakes few days before the actual festival.

5. I discovered that immediately after the festival is over ie on the 16th day, the left over unsold mooncakes is on Lelong Lelong sale at $1 per box in chinatown market. So I decided to cut cost and waited until the 16th day to buy the cheap mooncake. On that day I went and bought 4 boxes plus some tau sar pia! Immediately, the same night I pay a visit to my mother-in-law and presented 4 boxes of mooncake instead of the usual 2 boxes! But of course I pakat with my wife and she told her mum that I bought it for $8 per box 1 week earlier. Due to work we could not come early to give the mooncake. Conspiracy work to cheat the mother in-law! Just to save some money! Hahaha!

6. Today I must repent of my sin committed some 28 years ago. I dont know in the later years when I quarrel with my wife, she must have picah lobang my trick to her mum! Jialat! Better be honest and buy fresh and present it before the actual 15th day of the festival. Today 1 box of mooncake cost about $20-$30!

7. My wise rule say give more demand less! God's word also say it is better to give than receive!
So be generous! Give with a generous heart! Dont give with a 'cheating' heart! Sorry mum!

1.Yesterday was the Ghost Month Festival 7th month 15th day. It was considered the middle month peak. More burning of kim chua and paper monies to the ghosts on holiday in town. More pollution on the street. Night getai more songs and dance and offerings of food and earthly things.

2. Of one particular things of significant is the auction of 'Bee Tang' in hokkien. It is actually a jar or container or an urn filled with rice. Chinese is very superstitious about the Bee Tang. They will bid high price to get the Bee Tang! It is now better valued than the Oh Kim( black gold)!

3. I remember my father always remind my mum to fill up the rice urn just before Chinese New Year. And on the eve of the Chinese New Year my parent will cooked a big cooker pok of rice!
The idea is that on the 1st day of the New Year you will have plenty of rice to eat. And the rest of the year there will be no lack but plenty to eat. In short, prosperity will follow the rest of the year.

4. So bidding for a rice urn(bee tang) will make you rich! Everytime someone strike 4d or toto or got a fortune we always say "Bee Tang"!

5. Coincidence, yesterday we had a change of New Bee Tang! My queen throw away the old Bee tang ( plastic container filled with rice)! Together with another two 10kg bags of rice! It was left outside the corridor with other rubbish trash! Why?

6. Just a few months ago during the rice shortage and the price hike, the queen kia su just simply buy up 20 bags of rice to stock up. Guess what happen? The rice spoilt and turned into bettles and rice worms! One day the little children found out the rice with worms and they boycotted eating rice! It so happened the queen was cooking her best Japanese curry chicken on that day!
Guess what? No one dare to eat the rice or the curry! Lost appetite!

7. The rice was replaced with newly bought japanese rice. But the plastic container remained.
Recently when the queen cooked her dishes not to the liking of the little one, they refused to eat! Excuse given is again the rice got worms.!

8. Now the queen got angry throw away all the rice including the container! Old bee tang landed outside the corridor for the hungry ghosts to ta pau home to eat. What happened if the hungry ghosts is our ancestors? Our great grandparents or uncles or aunties! Jialat!

9. Lucky the queen bought a new Bee Tang! A new plastic container but this time filled with only half full japanese rice. Why change from Thai fragrance rice to Japanese rice! Thai rice turned bad into worms! Japanese rice to convince her Japanese pet (Torusan) to come home to eat her food again.

10. I was looking for a golden bee tang which I promised to give my sister. This is a good luck present when someone bought a new house. As I have stopped attending Chinese ghost festival there is no way I could bid a bee tang from the auction. So yesterday I gave $200 in NTUC voucher to my newly married sister for her to buy one new bee tang. I exchanged another $800 voucher for cash! Happy shopping sis!
